OK, I am doing a engine swap and the donor vehicle has a checkered past. It was in the process of being converted from a stick to an automatic. My question is......did he do the computer swap or not?

The donor is a 88XJ 4.0L and the computer number is 953005226.
Can anybody tell me if this is the manual or automatic compuer? I built the 4.0L into a stroker and can't wait to get it fired up. Going to be a bit more HP than the 4 banger.

Good luck getting the info. I ended up taking the computer to the parts counter at my local dealer and they cross referenced the numbers to ID it.

I got lucky. Went to www.advanceautoparts.com and looked under the computer for that year and they happened to list the OEM number. Mine is for the manual tranny. Finally something went right for a change ;-)
