Long story short...

I recently bought a CJ that was supposed to come with a D60 drum to drum not installed. I have it in writing that this is part of the deal.

Well, it appears he can not come up with it as promised.

I do not know all the details like gears, locker.... but if by chance the gears are correct it is ready to roll.

Now, with this limited info what would you say it is worth?
I need to push this dude for some compensation.

I am going to assume that it is a rear because you said that it is drum to drum. I have seen them starting from $100 for a junk yard pull out, to more than a $1000 for something with everything ready to bolt righ in.

Good assumption, it is a rear axle.

good luck. It just all depends on what the axle had with it.

The most common ones, 30 spline 1.38" shafts are dime a dozen man. $100 at any pick and pull. Some rare one's are out there with 32 or 35 spline and 1.5" shafts are worth more in the $500 range stock. Then of course if it's a hybrid, it just depends on what's in it. Start adding Mosier shafts and a deeeetroit and disk brakes and... and... and... You really need to find out what it was. But I bet just a good ol 30 spliner. Not worth much.
