oh god, that reminds me of my TC eating that shawt during weekend drills @ FT. Hood. The smell of potted meat, cougar snuff, diesel fumes and the gaseous by products of potted meat inside a humvee. On top of that, it was freaking feb. so we wouldn't put down the windows to try and keep what little heat we had. I think i'm gonna hurl now

How many different brands of (basically) the same canned meat substance are there?

I know there is one that is called "Clic" also...

How many more are there?
And why do they have only 4 letters in their names?? hmmmm......

Scrapple is some *vile stuff*, and I'm from Venezuela, where people eat some weird chit! My wife is from Maryland (Burtonsville in Montgomery Co. to be specific) and her family thrives on this stuff. Personally, I really gotta question what they put in that stuff! :barf:

True...but I still can't get past the smell. I have a lot of family in Germany, every time we go, I must admit....head cheese. Looks nasty, the gel part is kinda gross, but still tasty. I love liverwurst too, at the deviled ham stuff as a kid as well.

Sue, since you've had head cheese, have you ever tried
blood and tongue sausage? It's a "cold cut" like head cheese.

That and the plain blood sausage. Yummy. I don't ever buy the stuff here, except for liverwurst (not the same) but I always have that wierd stuff when I go there. Plus my great aunt always fixes wierd shit.

I got kicked out of a bar once over potted meat. :D This kick-ass punkabilly type band called The Ditch Diggers was playing. Cool band...they throw out tins of potted meat towards the end of the show. I'm standing up by the stage with Karen and all of the sudden...FWAP! There's a big plop of potted meat stuck to my chest. Dumbass Disco was hammered and thought it would be *funny* to hit me with the glorious grease bomb. I retaliate and slam dunk a dollop on his noggin. Next thing ya know, there's potted meat flying everywhere . The band took some hits and stopped playing to retreat behind the speakers. :D I look over and Karen, who's is about 5 foot nuttin and a buck-o-five, has jumped on a bouncer's back who is trying to *remove* Disco from the bar for instigating the mess. It was f'n crazy. People totally covered in potted meat. Girls with potted meat hair gel. Gawd that place and everyone in there absolutely fawkin reaked of that crap. Then, the puking started, but I won;t go there. :D Mammories, sweet mammories.:flipoff2:

It is. I grew up eating it. The secret is to go to a quality meat
market and get the round steak ground fresh. A good meat
market will use a grinder for that purpose only. They will also
trim all the fat off first. The ground meat comes out about 99% lean.:D
