Hey guys... well I've got a 99 WJ with a 247 and am planning a swap for a 231. I talked to New Venture Gear and they assured me all that was needed was to swap the input shaft of my 247 into the 231 and everything else should bolt up. Cool. So what I'm looking for is a procedure that I should follow for the input shaft swap. Never really done anything like this before, but I've got good mechanical skills and there is always a first time for everything :D.

BTW if you think this is more suited to newbie tech let me know.

The input gear is the last part you remove from the 231. In other words tear it allll the way down, swap, reassemble. It's easy, those things are Lego t-cases. You might have to swap the input gear bearing over too.
