: dyna trac's opinion on tera 60
badassjeepguy 11-12-2001, 02:15 PM i spoke with dyna bout a month ago... the guy told me that they had a tera 60 housing tested.... he said all kinda shit, but in the end it sounded like the housing was too weak and broke under load tests.... anyone hear this?
borton 11-12-2001, 02:44 PM I haven't heard this, but I'd trust terra's design, being a single cast with no mods to it, over dynatracks where they take a ford rc 60 and cut the bottom off then weld a plate on there, and you can argue that terra is trimming down their ring gear on the outer edge, but they are having this done before the hardening process, so that really isn't an issue either,
I think what it all boils down to is that they are dissin the competetor, just like terra would and does do with their competetors.
RustoleumWhite 11-12-2001, 03:01 PM I thought Dynatrac made their own, new casting as well. HP, cast in perches both sides, thicker.....
this is the first *I've* heard about them using Ford stuff, but then, I don't keep up with the stuff as much as others.
BAJG,,,
did you get prices for just the center section???
I only need one RR60 the front can be standard and we can do that. :trooper:
66CJdean 11-12-2001, 05:31 PM I wouldn't trust what they say. There are who many in comps now and none of them have broke. I have a Dynatrack housing I used in the front of my Jeep and it is there own casting not a Ford and it is very heavy duty but I doubt that the Tera is crap.
onetonwillysands10 11-12-2001, 09:13 PM Consider the source. Dynarape is simply bad mouthing there competitor. Remember they think they invented dana60's.:flipoff: And as for their centersections...I have an inside source thay works for spicer and he says otherwise about them "casting" their own centersections"....Let me tell a little story..A guy aI know bought some 35 spline outers and 35 spline internal drive flanges from Dynarape...3 sets at 150 bucks a stub axle and 200 a set for drive flanges(ok the guy shouldn't have paid that much ,but anyway)...The guys at dynatrac swore up and down it was their own stubs axles and drive flanges. They all arrived in spicer boxes with spicer part numbers....Hope this helps you in taking dynarape's comments with a grain of salt..:D

Aggro 11-13-2001, 05:15 AM any body with a dynatrac center can and will tell you for sure that it IS a custon casting. There's no doubt. flame away, but you get what you pay for.
1TONTJ 11-13-2001, 05:41 AM So, can we get those spicer part numbers? I want to convert my front 60 to 35 spline outers without bending over to dynatrac :D
Thanks,
Phil

I had a customer buy a front 60 for $4,000.00:eek: and it was not a "custom" housing. He thought he had something special until I showed him my 60 front looked like his.....ROFLMAO....:D
