There are a few places up there. I'm sorry I'm no help but to say there is hope. I had a few friends from Medford, but I don't know if they are even still there.

From medford, if you take Hwy 62 east 60 to 90 miles, the Rogue River national forest is full of fire roads, though I'm not sure about any real trails.

Hwy 62 east for 10 miles, and then Hwy 140 east for about 30 miles is another large area of forest and roads.

I don't know about how the wheeling is, but the scenery is great.

And if you haven't already, visit Crater Lake. Very cool place.
Of course, with this being march, i hope you like snow.:D

Medford is at the bottom of the state. The Gorge is at the top. That's a long haul.

You are 4 hours from Sac, 4 hours from Portland, 2 hours from Crater lake, 2 hours to the Ocean..... Not much I know of to do in Medford.

Drive up to the California border on I-5, then turn around and go as fast as you can down the big hill. :D Oh wait... you probably already did that since you are going there to fight a speeding ticket. :flipoff2:
