Okay, looks like I'm going to get the TT kit to swap to YJ's on my spoa. After doing a little searching, looks like everyone prefers a 5-leaf pack front/rear. Any opinions on this set-up, or other set-ups (ie, 5 front/4 rear)? Thanks. ~Steve

I run 4 without a problem but you have to put a track bar on or you'll twist up 4's or 5's, especially if your geared;)

I'm running a shackle reversal up front. Currently I'm running 5 leaf packs front and rear. I was running 4 leaf packs in the rear and they were way too soft.
I have a set of 4 4-leaf packs also and am going to be breaking the packs up and going to 6 leafs in the rear and leaving 5 up front.

Why you going with 6-packs in the rear? Too soft/too much axle wrap? I'm curious as I want to do it right the first time. Geez, right the first time, what's that???   ~Steve

Mainly I just want to try and get it level. Right now I'm sitting about 2 inches lower in the rear. The rear springs had settled about an inch (I need to get some bump stops on there soon before I destroy the springs).
Try with 5 leaf packs first. Chances are when you find some YJ springs you will end up with a set of 5/4 leafs. What I did was ran 5 up front and 4 in the rear at first. I found the 4's were way too soft so I found another set of 5/4 leafs. Now I have the 5's all around and a set of four 4's in case I destroy one of my packs.

When we first started doing YJ springs on Zuks back in 96, I went with 5 leaf packs. The ride improved noticeably moving down to 4 leafs though.
Could depend on your torque and driving habits though. 5 leaf packs will hold up better in the rear over time if you're hard on springs.

I have a six-leaf pack up front and a five-leaf in the rear. Looks as though I am backwards as usual :jeep: It still flexes awesome.
