Interesting story about Spam, the real stuff, not the annoying pop-up crap....

My sister did a pharmacy placement on an Indian reservation in AZ. Most of the families on this reservation had no refridgerators, so Spam was like the only meat product they used, because it has a shelf life of a thousand years. The grocery store had an entire section dedicated to Spam. They used Spam in everything they cooked..... Spam burritos, Spam pizza, Spam spaghetti, Spam burgers, green eggs and Spam, etc. Ain't that interesting? Isn't it amazing the lengths I'll go to, to rid myself of this awful newbie badge?

Since lance asked us to start clicking the banners at the tops of the pages, I just randomly pick one about once an hour and do a right click/open in new window about 20 times.

Then just close all 20 windows. Shazam. Ya done helped out lance, and maybe he'll make the pop-ups go away if the banner people start payin him enough to sustain the site. Sucks that he lost his job. :(

ya,absolutely.i have been clicking on the banners regularly,and some of them were even interesting enough to e-mail for more info.:)
was freaked out at first with that whole Dodge ram pop up:mad: but it went away,thank gawd. it's no sweat at all to check the banners out,'specially if it helps the Pirate site.:beer: :skull:

No, you're not seeing double. I posted this somewhere elst, too. But for those who may have missed it:

KILLING POP-UP WINDOWS:
In Interent Explorer, go to:
Tools
Internet Options
Security Tab
Custom Level...
Toward the bottom: Active Scripting
Choose Disable
Viola! No more pop-ups. Of course, you may need to set it back if you're in hotmail or something, when you're doing something thats SUPPOSED to create a new window or something.

Now that you're pop-up free, <font color="red">hold down the SHIFT key and click the far-left edge of the banner at the top of the screen about 2 dozen times.</font> This will pop up a bunch of ad's in new windows, giving us a better click-through rate. If it gets high enough from just the banner ads, Lance said he'll diable the pop-up ones and just go with those. So don't click on the pop-ups, just the banner ads.

Try and stop every twenty minutes or so on here and do that to help him out. :D

I have since learned that doing this really messes with hotmail or yahoo type email stuff (you may have to turn it back on to use some of the advanced features in one of them), and also won't let you put a smiley into a post here by clicking on it. You have to type out :flipoff2: to get a :flipoff2: instead of just clicking on it, but it's a small price to pay.</font>
