First of all i am starting SOA and forgot to check suspension travel before breaking things to the point of no driving. So now i have no idea on how long to get shocks. What size did all of you use on SOA fj55's?
Another question is regarding Tcase. What is the level of difficulty to replce the front output of the tcase. Mine snapped off right inside of the outer seal. I have never done tranny of tcase work. THink i would be getting in over my head? If so does any one have a reasonably priced stock tcase for 71 fj55?
thanks

IMO, buy 14" travel shocks for each corner and rework mounts to install them. I use ALL of my 14" travel front shocks.

Unless you plan to drop the extra $$$$ for Bilstein or some other "rebuildable" shock, all the "affordable" shocks max out at around 14" of travel...including Rancho 9000's, 5000's, Doetsch Tech, etc. You can cheat this some by inboarding mounts (which I've done) but only so much in the front.

Check my website for a spreadsheet link on shocks.

I run ~14" travel DT3000's, which are ~$28 apiece from SummitRacing. They are very soft, but great for a nice ride and low-gearing where you need slow speed control. IMO, RS9000's are junk...got a set on my pickup and hate them. But, that's my opinion and there are 100 others who love them, so....

Ive got a t-case from a 73 fj40, the three speed model. I'm not sure if it is the same case or not. They go for damn near $500 used from spector, I'm asking $300 OBO.
