I am looking to do beadlocks I was checking into MRT they offer a 18 bolt and a 36 bolt was wondering which would be the best I am running 38.5 x14.5 15's. Or what other beadlocks are out there that are worth spending the money for any suggestions??

Thanks

If it ever sees the street then the 36 bolts would be better. 18 bolts doesn't seem like much to hold a tire on at highway speeds...

I got the 36 bolt MRT's and I like them. Plus it is only a little more $$$ for the 36 bolts. :D

You can see them in this pic (http://jeep-club.irtech.com/images/Paragon-01/resize-106-0679_IMG.jpg)

i got the 18s mostly cause i think the 36 are overkill, besides i didnt wanna tighten 36 bolts a wheel on a regular basis

You can get a 1/4" drive air ratchet that has the right amount of toque for the bolts, then it is easy :D

how do you keep track of which one needs to be tightened next with the 36's?!?!?!! You do tighten them in a criss-cross pattern RIGHT!??!?!?!?

Chalk works well.

Or little fridge magnets you can move around.

I have a stupid question. What beadlocks are legal for street use, and which ones aren't? Does it differ state by state? Is it possible to get your tires balanced with the beadlocks on ?

I like the 18's because it alows the water to flow out of the odd wholes.

I don't think any of them are legal for street use. Doesn't stop us though :flipoff2:

Mike, being a Pennsylvaina State :trooper: , I called our Department of transportation Division, and spoke to a supervisior. She checked the computer and told me that in Pennsylvaina there is no regulation prohibiting the use of a bead lock rim. However, the use of screws into the bead is prohibited.

some drag cars screw the tire to the rim. Not us.

But this debate has gone on far tooo long for my liking. Most beadlock manufactures say that their product fails the latteral runnout test. Set forth by fed. standards..

Advise, register in PA.. :D For once we have one up on everyone else... :rasta:

I run the MRT 18's, no problem just keep them torqued.
