Does anyone know where I can find the gear ratio information on Torqflite transmissions. Specifically the 727 model? I am considering replacing my 999 with a 727 in my 94' Wrangler.

the 999 has a more desireable 1st gear, and is more than enough tranny to handle the 242

727:
2.45
1.45
1.00

999:
2.74
1.55
1.00

Stick with the 999.. I am in the process of finishing up a swap from my puegot 5 spd to a TF999 and I can't wait to go wheel it!

The TF727's housing is a little larger and may interfere with the front driveshaft if you don't have a about a 4" lift. Somethng to consider. ALso most (not all) TF727's do not have lock up which is a nice feature on the road to drop the RPM's and make eveything last a little longer.

There are relativly few differneces between the TF727 and the TF999, internally though the TF727 is rated for harder usage.
