This is the axle on my truck. I have searched the web and found no other knuckles that look like this, Could this be an older style. It's a 73 power wagon. I think it is a d44 but maybe a 50 or a 60.

Here is the link.
copy paste into browser(thats the only way I know how)

I'll try to get the right link

Are those drum brakes up front? It looks to be closed knuckle, is it?

If I had to guess right now, I'd say it was a D44.

Closed knuckle
drum brakes
But it seems to have odd knuckles compared to other 44's
I think though, that it will be easy to make some crossover arms for it? I just hope the knuckles are strong enough to take that.

Most D44s are open knuckle and use ball joints, so yes it is quite a bit different.

I'm hardly an expert on the subject, so take all this with a bit of salt.

I'd be hesitant to use a closed-knuckle anything, be it 44 or 60. Dodge D44s arent' hard to come by, and I'd imagine D60s are somewhat common up there with all the snow. I think you'd be money ahead swapping in either of those axles. However, if you're set on using what you have, it doesen't look like it would be too difficult to add high steer arms to those knuckles.

Good luck!

Its a Dana 44. the older Dana's had closed knuckle and drum brakes, but I think it was an option to get discs. the open knuckle and disc came out around 76 or 77, guessing.
