BA flights to and from Kuwait and Israel will be suspended indefinitely, while services to other countries in the region are under constant review.
A spokeswoman said: "We are suspending services in the light of Foreign Office advice about travel to these areas.
In August 1990, a BA jumbo jet with nearly 400 passengers and crew on board was stranded at Kuwait after it arrived as Iraq was invading.
The plane was eventually destroyed in fighting, while many of those who had been on board were unable to return home for weeks.
