I am doing an SOA conversion on my 92 YJ in a month and I need to find axles. I will be using 4 in procomp springs and run 37 SSR. I havebeen told to go with waggy 44's, but what years. Which ones have the cross-over steering? Any help would be great. Thanks

If you want to go wider then the waggy axles go with Cherokee Chief 44's
mid to late 70's waggy and chief axles are what you want. Then call some one like Bob Roggy for steering Knuckles and arms.

Might want to keep in mind that most waggy 44 fronts had passenger side pumpkins. and the rears were offset to one side.
Maybbe you should look into a high pinion ford 44 front for the YJ
I think there was one for sale in the sale section.

I've got a waggy D44 front in my spring over YJ. It works great! It came out of a 82 waggy. As far as hi-steering goes, i just bought a pre 79 knuckle (because they have the flat tops) then just had it machined and threaded. Bought a Avalanche arm, some chromoly steering with 3/4" heims and walla.. I Love it!

i am using 78 f250 front 44 and rear 60. the advantage of the ford axles are reverse cut front 44. if you look for a 78-79 F250 the front spring perches are in the right spot already...you can also use 78-79 bronco and f150 axles...full width with SOA looks great <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

As far as the rear end goes, most any FSJ rear 44 will do except the offset ones for the quadratrac t-case.
87-91 Grand Wagoneers had the pumpkin on the driver side of the front end and no axle disco. So if you're looking to take both axles off the sme vehicle, these are the years to look for.
I put axles from an '87 Waggy on my YJ and they're a pretty easy swap. Good luck.
