Do any companys sell pre-made universial winch plates or do i have to get scrap steel and make my own? I could have sworn warn made them, but I couldnt seem to find them. Any ideas? All i seem to find is jeep kits, and at $120, I would rather go the scrap steel route.

BTW, it is a warn m8000 winch

I've seen commerical plates....
one example (bolts on a stock FJ40): Mounting Plate (http://store.yahoo.com/coolfj40/winmounchan.html)
But for $80.... head out to BLUE COLLAR SUPPLY and pickup a hunk of metal for $10, and drill it. Add a angle iron (for the hawse fairlead)... you're in business.
Seems like you should be able to make up something fairly decent for under $20.00.... $10 for scrap metal, $5 for some beer, $5 to add to the "welding supply fund"

just finished this one:

made the plate out of 8" wide by 1/4 thick channel. just about perfect for an hs9500i. We got a 20' stick for $57 new, it was enough for 6 plates.

go to a welding shop and ask for a 2-3ft clip of mc18x42.7 c-channel. that'll hold the world and everybody stocks it.
