: SOA vs. SUA

I'm cutting out my IFS for a 60" wide D44 soon and I want to get 5 inches of lift and run 35x12.5's. The question is: do I buy new springs that will lift my truck 5 inches and run SUA, or use stock springs and do a SOA to get the lift?? This truck is my daily driver as well, so I don't want it to be too "tippy", but I still want to get good articulation and a good ride. What are the plusses and minuses of each? Any thoughts??

If you do it right soa is the way to go. More clearance under the diffs without springs hanging down. What kind or stock springs are you using?

Go with the spring over. In addition to getting that little bit of extra clearance having the springs up and out of the way, you will get slightly more travel. Then just go with a nice flat spring to get the most travel you can.

If I go SOA though, will I get a lot of body roll and bad handling while driving on the highway?? Or is there a way to reduce that? That's really the big thing that's turning me off to SOA.

Go spring over axle! The extra travel is worth it. As a matter of fact I have never heard one single good reason to go sua. Yes it keeps axle wrap down but if you go soa just get a pair of 63" chevys and youll be cool.:cool2: :D
