looking for a split case with larger idler shaft in good working order

38mm idlers were introduced in October (10/85) so 1986 models (which should have 2.27:1).

If you are looking for a 34 mm that should work with a H55, 10/84 is a pretty sure bet and some cases as early as 7/84 can work (that's July 1984) but that month is hit or miss.

Data still needs to be determined on what month US FJ60's were 100% converted to the new casting that accepts the oiler cup and bearing.

Those gears for 38mm are also available after market for about $675 or so (that is 32 tooth drive gear, 24/43 idler, hi, and low output gears).

can't fit 34 mm cases though.....
