Scale of 1 to 10, 10 being hard... it was a 2. I spent 6 hours doing the install. One hour was spent finding a point on the CJ that would remain hot during the ignition key swipe. It was a piece of cake. You should have little trouble.

As long as you have a two barrel carburetor it's a piece of cake. If you have a one barrel it will require an intake manifold swap along with the install.

i'm satisified with the 6 cyl. it's only when it floods out while i'm doing some climbing that it makes me mad. does fuel injection make that much difference.

The TBI kit directly from howell for the 258 is ~$1000. Any shop who tells you it is $1000 for an install is ripping you off. The local shop here only charges about $350 to put the kit in. Of course you can just save the money and put it in yourself.

You shouldn't have any problems installing the Howell EFI yourself. Basically you just grab all the hoses under the hood and walk backwards pulling them off. Then take of the fuel pump and carb.

The install just has you put on the adapter (wait until silicone dries), run a wiring harness, put in fuel pump, filter and hose, mount CPU, and a little wiring.

Shouldn't take you more than a weekend at the most. And thats if you are blind and only have one arm.
