So I go outside to take a pic of our truck, and it comes out blurry. It is a sunny day, 4 megapix cam. I can't be shaking that much that it is blurred, or am I? I've never owned a dig cam, so i want to know if it is the camera or what

Check to see what resolution the camera is set on. It's adjustable.;)

BTW nice Cruiser.

Tried sharpening it. Check all the settings. It maybe set to take a lot of pictures so the resolution will not be as good.

Bring me the camera and truck. I'll let you know what I find in, say, three months..... :flipoff2:

I checked, it is a 4 megapix setting. I can fiddle somewhat with shutter speed and ISO, I'll try that. I was wondering if it was because at this setting, the pic is huge and if that blurrs it?

It's obvious to me...

...your truck is not centered in the parking space, so that must be throwing your camera off.:flipoff2:

(Or maybe the auto focus isn't working. Usually pushing the button down halfway will 'set' the focus. It's a wild-@ss guess, but if you hit the button early, you may be setting the focus before you really want too...)

Its an FJ, turn the engine off, that'll cut down on the blurring...

Sure....and while you have it, can you lift it and get some new tires? Oh, a new stereo would be nice too. and a roll cage. Thanks :flipoff2:

OK, OK, well, just don't burn through too much film trying to fix the camera. :flipoff2: :flipoff2:

Check your lense, make sure you didn't get anything smudged on there.

Like someone else said, digital cams usually have an autofocus when you push the button halfway down.
Also, when taking a still pic like that, lock your elbows to your sides, it will hold the cam about as stationary as you can get it without a tripod.

the only other thing I can think of would be that sometimes autofocus cameras also have trouble with glass surfaces - ever try to take a picture of an animal at the zoo? It's pretty hard to do. The angle of the photo and the windshield *might* also screw up the autofocus.

Try a different angle, or all they all like that???

Oh, yeah! Don't forget to peel that clear sticky protective film off the lens before you start taking pictures!

I know NOTHING about cameras. :D

Alright....give me a few minutes. It is quite possibly the auto focus thing. It's really windy and I was moving around because my hair kept blowing in the way.

Hey Schly: no need to tell me you don't know anything, we know you are slow anyway!! :flipoff2:

lol.. :D You say he-jack, i say HIJACK :D

There might be a close-up/distance setting, physically on the outside of the camera Sue. If not there, then in the advanced menu's within the settings and such, there will be some sort of 'distance setting' - look for it, and only the very close up shots need it to be on close up, all others need to be on panorama or whateva..

Alright...apparently I've had too much coffee, I must be shaking or something. I've fiddled, and it does vary. But the one that ARD sharpened looks better than any I take. Thanks, I just wanted a clear pic of it anyway.

Could also be from reducing the size of the pic. I've found that a picture comes out better if taken at 640x480 (lowest setting on mine) then it does when taken at 1280x960 then reduced down to 640x480.
If you're going to post it on the net you should take the pic at the lowest resolution (smallest file size) anyway.
