I have 3.5" spring under now that will clear 33's. I have a 2" body lift and longer shackles to allow me to clear 35's, with TJ flares.

If I go SOA, keep my 4" springs but take off the 2" body lift, what size tire can i run and still flex/stuff easily?

I want to clear my 35's a-lot. but not to the point it looks stupid. should I do the SOA with 2" lift springs??

Dheep has soa on stock leafs, stock axles,running 38.5 tsl's.

Not sure but think they only rub on leafs when turning.

38.5's on stock axles.. and you don't know if they rub... rubbing is the least of his issues!

No way this clears 38's on a YJ. I know people who rub 33's on a stock spring soa YJ. Plus, if he's really runnin them tires on stock axles,.... he ain't gonna be for long.

I am running a 94 yj with 3 1/2" superlift springs,No body lift and 33" tires. i have TJ flares on all 4 corners no rubbing. I will soon be putting on 35" tires that should clear with no problem.

you asked a ? I give you a what i am running it will work..... no body lift.

4" springs are to tall for 35's. 1" to 2" will clear. Keep your weight low, and the springs will flex better. <IMG SRC="smilies/jeep2.gif" border="0">

To clear 35's on my YJ it took a 4.5" spring lift, trimmed fenders with TJ flares, and a 3" body lift. The rear still rubs a slight, slight bit. I ran it for a while with a 2" body lift, and the back really rubbed. I am running SSR's which are a true 35" tire. I'm in the process of going SOA as I don't like the big body lift.

what springs are you going to use when you go SOA? I'm surprised your rubbing with all the lift you have. I also have 35" ssr's, tj flares, but 2" body, and no rubbing at all in rear, just in the front. but I do have revolvers and hypershackles that are giving me some extra lift.

I'm going to start out with stock height, JC Whitney Springs, and then take the body lift down to 1". I think I'll need at least a one inch body lift to keep my diff from hitting my airtank (though I suppose I could just move that). Anyway, that's the plan. Just waiting for my friends friend to get back in town so we can use his shop since I don't have a welder, but he's got all the toys.

I'm running SOA on 2.5"-3" lift springs, no body lift and 1/2 Boomerang shacke lift. Those are 36x12.50 TSLs. I'm rubbing a little on the front when flexed. And it flexes ... <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

I am soa with more srs. and buggy springs f and r with 3" body and 35".

I am running 35's on a SOA with Wrangler packs, no body lift and 2 inches of body clearancing (sawzall style). It has to tuck real hard to rub and then only barely rubs.

And it flexes pretty good. Best thing about it is that the COG is really low. I can put it on it's side and it doesn't know it. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

I got an 89 YJ with 3.5" Superlift Springs in the front and a Rear SOA with JC Whitney HD leafs.

The rear is perfect with no rubbing but the front tired mashed the fenders at full stuff! My passenger side fender is mashed pretty good!

This is with 33" MTR's

They might rub on the fenders but not real sure.

And he just ran Sledge with out a problem.
