Summit racing sells RCI's under their own name. I run them in my jeep - cheap and pretty comfortable.

There are a couple guys in the AZVJC that run with the Mastercraft Ruibcon seats.

I haven't had a chance to sit in them to test them out, but they really seem to like them.

Glad to hear they're comfortable . . . I just ordered one to replace my driver's seat.

how do those poly racing seats mount?
I assume they have some metal reinforcment in the bottom to bolt thru or sometihng?

also I see summit sells RCI for $39.99, and house brand for $36.99

both incur an additional hipping charge, how much is the shipping charge?

and are teh seats the same?

A four year project that is finally starting to come together. I can use as much constructive criticism as you can muster. Threaded inserts in the bottom of the seats. You can either buy their seat sliders or just mount them solid. I'm the only one who drives my jeep so they're just bolted to angle iron frames. I bought mine 3 years ago, I think shipping was like $10 each. As far as I know the RCI and summit are the same - you can get the RCI in purdy colors, the summit is black only.

I don't run covers, just the bare plastic seats. I think the covers are padded vinyl.

i run the covers on mine and yes they are padded but only alittle. they are washable. all you need is a damp rag and wipe them off. easy as that. oh yeah and they are not necessary if you don't want them. i like the little bit of padding they provide though.

If you still have them.. why not cut slots in your stock/old seats and then show off your embroidery skills sewing the edges back up.. :flipoff2:

Just a reminder that if you run 5 point harnesses you need a bar behind the seat for them to go over. It needs to be at or just below your shoulder level. This is so that if you are in an accident the belts don't crush your back when you go forward. I was told this by a guy who builds race cars when i was planning the construction of my roll cage.

Have a good example of this?? With the bar in place, that would basically mean that the rear seat is removed or passengers have to be limber in order to get in:D

Need to complete my 5 point and I have been unsure as to the bar palcement.:smokin:

hey man its like 2 inches from the top of your shoulder down. Its going to suck for people getting in the bad of the jeep oh well. If you mount the roll bar 5points you will need another bar to attach them to below thw one by the shoulders or you can just go to the floor board.

 SHHWWEEEET lookin' cage BIG HG!! Have any more pics of the masterpiece:question:
I have an FSJ and would like to have a full cage to the frame done up. And have been toying with the idea of a removable hardtop. Haven't found anyone competant to think it thru. Something to where the sides are rolled at the top like a regular truck bed and the top is like a shell something like the old Bronco's. I'll more than likely have to go with a custom canvas soft top and use the cage as the skeleton to wrap it around.
Who did the cage work:question: You're in Phoenix?... HA! I'm in Glendale. Email me or post when you get a chance.

Thanks, Tigger4X :jeep:

I used my stock seat brackets (76 CJ-7) and just layed a piece of 3/8" x 1 1/2" steel across the brackets to line up with the holes in the seats. After driving in them for a while I layed a piece of 1" square tubing under the back mount of my RCI's to raise the back of the seat. They would put my feet to sleep and made me feel like I was falling backwards without it. I have the covers for mine but they are usually left at home.

I believe the question in the post you quoted was "does anyone have any pictures..." Not "Does some dumb ass newbie have an unwanted opinion about something NO ONE cares about?"

If that had been the question your post would have been warranted... now go back over to newbie tech!:flipoff2:

Yup, buddy of mine has one RCI and one Summit brand. EXACTLY the same.

They are pretty comfortable, but I've got a boney back. But the angles and stuff are good. I'm sure they'd be perfect with the fitted covers.

Here is some pictures off my jeep with Beard seats. I bought the seats with brackets and they are nice and beefy! The second pic is when my rear limit starp broke! But shows a good side view of the seats with a 5-point harness.
