Though I was suprised to see as few as entered. I think this class is going to get hot. It truly kicked ass. The fun factor was a big part of it. The only ones who seemed to take it real serious were the Curries. It seemed like everyone did what they could to help each other out. We both received, and gave help to lots of competitors. I want to say thanks, to those that lent us a hand. Matt and I were in the yellow TJ. We had 4 vehicles "from" our club ( I'm including non oficial members) in the 35" class and 2 in the Trophy class. It was fun to run this class before the big dollar machines got into it. Next time with the help of a functioning rear locker and some CTM U joints even me and Matt should get to play longer.

I'm glad to here you talk about the 35" and under Class.
The Class rules for next season's modified stock class, CalROCS style will be up shortly. I just sent them to web daddy to post on CalROCS. Some of the rules have been set. with a combined effort for the world super crawl event coming up in Nov. of 2002 in mind. (see UROC rules and website)

Hell ya!!! It was cool I think it's what the sport needs to move forward. There are lot's of people that are capable of competing in this class that don't stand a chance against a full blown buggy.

Rich, I was going to call you but I was trying to get caught up before I got out of town. Plus my SLOW dial up at work took a dump so I didn't have your #. I'll try to call you tomorrow.

Ya the first time I heard about this class I was impressed w/ the ideas and limitations.... I think it all comes down to driver skill once you are limited and it's cheap and easy for everyone to be competitive.

Frank Currie (the Grandpa) drove the original TJ, and Morris Hanson spotted for him. They were pretty nice guys. Very helpfull watching them drive. The top five were

1. ME!! '83 CJ-7
2. An almost stock early '5
3. The Currie's
4. A huge 4-door Unimog
5.Doug from this board in a black x-cab Toy.

I really hope there are more of these comp's in the future. It really put everyone one the same level. I am thinking of running the UROC events next year.

I've got some pictures posted here. There aren't a lot of the modified stock, and I think most of them are in album 3.
