It really depends on what size tires you are running, what the rigs specs are, and if you plan on driving it every day. Im going to assume its a toyota with a 4 banger and 4.11 gears. If thats the case, I would do dual cases first, if its strictly a trail rig, or Id do gears first if you drive it every day.

need info to base this on. It's not like there's 1 right answer for everyone.

Do the gears first -- then they will be done! And when you get the dual case you'll be even lower.

Then again it really does depend totally on what your vehicle is and the specs are now, and what you want to accomplish.

It depends on what you want to do with it. Judging by the question, I'd say go with the axle gear change. You probably need it.

Do the gears first.

You should have 4.10's now, going to 4.88 won't make that big of a difference crawl ratio wise, but they will help on the street some. I'd go dual cases, they will get you farther.

It's a matter of preference.

The R&P will reduce a lot of stress and abuse on your driveline and save wear and tear in the long run.

Where ever you reduce the gearing, it will reduce the stress on the drive components from that point on.
