I just finished getting the axles from a 79 bronco into my little bronco II, and I'm trying to figure out options for the front drive shaft. The t/c is a BW1350, and NO, I don't have the cash to swap it out. It uses a slip-yoke that worked fine for the TTB front end, but I think it will really limit the solid axle as it will have a lot more drop to it. I think I'm going to go with a square front shaft, and wondered what problems would I run into if I used a slip shaft along with the slip yoke.
This is for the most part a trail-only vehicle. I have a leaf-sprung front.
Thanks,

when your drive shaft goes to flex, is going to come of of the t-case most likely and not slip in the square tube one you made
a BW1356 case's are better and very cheap @ big and pull

But would the 1356 bolt up to my T-K 5speed tranny? I know the 1354 will, but they are more expensive and hard to find.

Another option for you is if you can find one of the relatively rare "STX" B-W 13-50 T-cases.
these have the same angled front output as other
BW-1350 T-cases, but have a bolt on yoke
that uses a double cardan joint at the T-case.
These were made to allow for the different driveshaft geometry on the STX trucks equipped with the factory 2" lift that is refered to as the "highrider" suspension.
I have one of these T-cases, but the driveshaft is among the missing.

I did a straight axle swap into my B2, I kept the BW1350 for three months until I swapped it for an atlas 2.
The slip yoke in the T case does hinder you. Mine also made an anoying knock knock noise when the slip would pull front and the yoke for the U joints banged on my T case while wheeling.
I did make a custom T case crossmember to help allevoate the knock knock, but junked it when I swapped in the atlas 2.
