: Need Shock Tower Measurements

CAN ANYONE GIVE ME A MEASUREMENT OF THE FORD SHOCK TOWERS, HOW HIGH THEY ARE FROM THE TOP OF THE FRAME AND HOW FAR OUT THEY LEAN FROM THE FRAME? THANKS-

Couple of photos of the Ford Shock Towers in my '79 FJ40.

Towers lean in, height from top of frame to the shock bolt is 13". Photo should give you an idea how much sheet metal is trimmed to get them to fit. You can see from the wheel wheel hot much the tower leans out.

Note the rubbing (at the bottom of the photo) on the shocks from max articulation.

THANKS, I'M TRYING TO GET A BEARING FOR TOMARROWS PROJECT OF SHOCK HOOPS. DO YOU KNOW WHAT NUMBER SHOCKS THOSE ARE?

Most are running the long shocks, i.e. 9102's, or the 13.5" travel Doetsch's in my case.

9102 sounds right... sorry won't have a chance to look until tonight.

Texican -- didn't you have a spread sheet of the shocks and compressed/extended lengths.

Not anymore... 99036 is the 14.875" travel one...

99034 is 14" travel,. and the 99012 is reduced down to the low 13's for travel, IIRC.
