Anybody know the weight of a 37/12.5 SSR and/or a 37/13 bogger?
One of those is gonna be my next tire as the goodyears are way out of my price range:(
What are your opinions on sidewall strength? I know the bogger is tougher but how many people have torn a SSR sidewall? Oh I don't need to hear that your friend's brother's girlfriend's dad's cousin thinks the they might have seen one shred at one time either, just your experience.

In a recent mag they spec'd the 37 13 16 Bogger as only 35.4 inches tall. I would have expected it to be 36+ inches tall, on the vehicle. Does anyone know if the 37 13 15 Bogger also specs out as this short (for a 37)?

This seemed like a common problem with the SSR's for awhile, but it seems like they got the bugs worked out. But for a true trail tire I want something that I don't have to worry about destroying, expecially at $200+ a tire

I've been running my 35x12.50r15 6ply SSRs on my heavy ass fullsize for 10k miles with no problems. Speeds up to 80mph on terrible roadways (you Sac area guys know what I mean). Never a problem.

Don't forget, any tire can have a blow out in the highway. I drive 100 miles each way to work and I see at least one flat each trip.

I'm running 37X13-15 Boggers and like them alot. They grip really well and seem to have great sidewall strength. I trailer my POS, so road manners don't really matter.

I've not actually measured a set, but the one set I got a good look at appeared to be less than 36". I say "appeared to be" because the guy had 37" Boggers on the rear & 38X12.50/15 TSL's on the front. And I HAVE measured 38X12.50/15 TSL's a BUNCH (including my own set). Those come out to right at 36". Again, at a glance the 37" Boggers looked smaller, they SURE weren't bigger.

I have measured a brand-spanking-new 37x13 bogger on a 10" Eaton beadlock wheel @ 12 psi and got an dead even 36" tall.

A buddy and I swapped SSR's a month ago. My 35x12.5's for his 33x12.5's... The mechanic came tell us there was a problem and then the tire blew up. The sidewall was blown. I drove to Interco and they mounted up a new one for free no questions asked.

I once heard of this guy that blew out all 4 ssr's in one spot on the rubicon. He had to make his own tires out of mud weeds and burlap bags :flipoff2: :flipoff2: :flipoff2: :flipoff2:

I think you should just take my 38's off hands :D

i HAD 35 12.50 ssr's, they work good when they arent loosing all the air from 5 inch gashes in the sidewall.... no more ssr's or radials for me... biased seem to hold up much better

a friend of mine cut one of his SSR's. i almost bought a set of em, and wanted to know the sidewall thickness. so he cut me a piece off the sidewall of the blown one and the sidewalls on those are pretty f*cking thin. much thinner than my MTR's, maybe close to the same as a BFG

When wheelin out East at Paragon Park -- doing some rock climbing, one partcipant blew out the sidewall on an SSR. I've been running boggers, they may not have the grip on slippery rock and will hit a Honda in the next lane on the road -- but their darn near bullet proof!
