Yeah, get an Ax-15 from a late '89 YJ or '90 and later YJ. They come in both 21 and 23 spline outputs, and you have 21 splines on your Peugot. '89's could be either, but the '90 and later should all be the 23 variety. The splines have to mach the input gear of your t-case. If you find a nice 23 spline unit, you can either swap the input gear in your t-case, which isn't too hard, or grab the matching case from the donor vehicle. Cherokee trannys will work, but you'll have to swap the tailhousing to the Wrangler style, due to differences in t-case position. Also, you'll need the AX-15 t-case shifter bracket and possibly other linkage parts. It's pretty simple, just get all the parts from one vehicle so you don't $.05 and $.10 yourself and waste all your  money. Have fun!

All I can tell you is, watch out.. this sucks.. Im working on a tranny swap for my 89 yj, taking out the puegot which was dying and putting a TF-999 auto in its place. While I thought I had almost everything done, and went to fire it up... hmmm the starter was fine, and spun, but it wasnt making contact with the teeth on the flexplate, to turn over the motor.. hmmmm Well.. I was told a flexplate only goes in one way, but it seems that mine is in backwards.. guess what that means? Pulling the tranny/tcase and bolting the flywheel back up.. what a fun ordeal.. and this was supposed to happen over a weekend.. its now been about 2 weeks and I still don't have my jeep.. at this point, Im shooting for Thanksgiving day to drive my jeep to my grandmas house for dinner.... :( Trust me, do all your resarch and parts gathering ahead of time.

If you're rich, AA makes the T5 World Class and sells it as a direct bolt-in replacement for the Peugeot. (that's how it's spelled ;) )

IF you are rich, why run the T5? So it can break on you again.. If you really are rich, go with the NV4500 and adapters.. thats what I would have done if I was sticking with a manual, and had money to burn..

hmm, could sell you my Peugeot. I plan on swaping in a TF 727 or 999 like scott. see, the Peugeot is so small, you could carry spares, and when one breaks, just swap it out!:D
I know I know, just thought it would be cool to say " its OK, I got a spare tranny in the back."

Brando,
is your project rig a 258 CI 6 cyl like mine? I thought it was a 4 cyl. If its a 4 banger its got the AX5 not much better than the puegot :)
