Going to be reinforcing my cage with 1 3/4 .120 tube while it's out of the FJ. If you gurus out there wouldn't mind taking a look to see if I missed anything, I'll owe ya  and :smokin: for sure! Oh ya, all corners will be gusseted.

Actually what you already have looks pretty good. I think I would just add some corner gussets and the dash bar and be done. You can put in all the bars you want, but after a point you're just adding weight

I would put the dash bar in and the behind the seatg bar just below shoulder height (to mount the harness) and I would add the pink bars that I drew in here to stop the corners from colapsing.

I would put the dash bar in and the one behind the seat for racing harnesses, after that worry about getting those rear mounts tied into the frame if they arent already
I think your design is fine. Only thing I see is tie that thing to the frame.:D

Thanks for the replies. I had already planned on tying it into the frame so no worries there. The dash bar was a certainty but was waiting 'till the re-buildup was further along to get the placement correct. Forgot about my harness mount so that'll be in there. :D
What about tying the bottom of the cage together and mounting my seats on there? Worth it for strength or just adding weight? Thanks again!

Cage design looks really sound. The dash bar would definatly add support. Beyond that, if you roll hard enough to fold that cage up, the extra bars won't matter.

I say add the dash & harness bar , gussets and maybe some overhead protection like the Pro rock comp boys have ( so if ya roll nothing pops thru the cage and pokes ya ). Your not blasting thru the desert like the Baja rigs. Tie it all to the frame and call it good!

I like the seats and belts mounted to a couple bars along the floor line, it's extra weight, but it's fairly low and it keeps the seats and cage together.
