I have gathered most the pieces I need to build a long slip shaft for my junk. What I still need to decide on is the material for the tube itself. With the pieces I have it "appears" that a 2 1/2" length of Sch 40 will do the job.(and make it easy) My concern is if this is too heavy? This is for a front DL that will never see hwy use. So Whadda ya guys say? (note) I'm a cheap fawk:D otherwise I would just but one of Jess's DL's;)

That is going to be way way heavy. Most 2.5 drivelines are .065 or .083. The question is what is the butt diameter of the slip assy that you are going to use? From that I can figure out what tube will work for you.

if it wont see highway speeds, it will be fine, and that heavy will prevent breakage from scrapeing the rocks.... if it were the rear, i would say hell no, but i think you can get away with it in the front

I'm cheap too. :D I used some heavy wall pipe I had laying around for my front driveshaft. I don't know exactly what it is, but its thick and heavy and it works fine.
