TexasBlake 04-09-2003, 11:12 PM I sold my 94 Camaro to my exgirlfriend for $4000......

Motornoggin 04-09-2003, 11:14 PM 1970 Chevy C10. Bought it with a 250ci 6 popper and a truck 4 speed. Sold it with a 350hp 350 that I built. I bought an unassembled but machined short block and rounded up all the other parts. Also did a 4" drop. Had to sell it, couldn't afford to drive it 40 miles one way to work.:(

I feel for your dad. I learned to drive on a '73 chevy K5 Blazer with the 4 speed manual(granny low), Only used the Granny for hauling. It was nickel and diming me when I was in school. Yea it had huge rust patches over the wheels. but it was known al over the San Jose area. The replacement was a '93 S-10 4X4 with the vortec 4.3 and a 5 speed manual. I wanted to lift it but only got to put on 30" Big Foot AT. Then the x-snatch said we need a better family car, you can get a truck next time. Selling both of them was lame.:(
Regice 04-09-2003, 11:33 PM '72 Chevy Nova - 350 engine, Weber carb, centerline rims, sway bars, headers, custom exhaust, Muncie 4 speed, posi-trac diff.
I bought the car when I graduated high school, from my buddy that joined the Army. It was their bone stock family car, and another buddy helped me fix it up. That car hauled azz!
ChevyGal 04-10-2003, 12:02 AM Wasn't mine, was my Grandparents. It was an old Impala. I don't even remember what year it is. I need to find some pics so you guys can help me figure it out... anyhow.... my Grandparents sold it to get a freaking Mercury Topaz! I wanted to buy that car from them so bad when I turned 16. When they sold it, it was either in 84 or 86, it had like 30,000 ( I know a bit more) miles on it. Had the original everything in it. The interior was mint, paint mint. My Grandparents kept it immaculate! My Grandma named it Betsy. She used to hit the speed bumps going fast so the car would bounce cuz I found that really funny. I guess I was easily amused as a kid? That car, just will always make me think of them. I wish I still had it now out of they are both gone... and that really is my first memory of them, driving around in that car...
ForestCam 04-10-2003, 12:30 AM I regret selling my '84 Cutlass for $1100. The car was a POS but the Chevy 350 I put in it was great! Hell I had $450 into the heads alone!:(
Not me but a old employer regrets not buying a used 427 AC Cobra for 4000$ I think he said the car was two years old.
Then he bought a Bug instead.
Jaffer 04-10-2003, 06:06 AM I bought off the showroom floor in Farmington for $ 3850.00 a brand new blue 1969 Camero with 425 HP aluminum headed L88 396, TH350 and Pansonic 8-Track tape deck.
Damn, I loved that car ... :(
bigdave 04-10-2003, 06:13 AM I had an 86 Buick Century Wagon that I wish I still had. I could really use it for carrying stuff, plus I wanted to convert it to RWD and drop a V8 in it someday!
Sundowner 04-10-2003, 06:17 AM my 4-banger, hose out vinyl interior'ed, no a/c, 4-speed screaming red, inside and out 1985 Chevy S-10 Blazer. The vehicle that friends andfamily knew as the Blazer of Glory, of just the BoG. The truck I sincerely tried to pound into the ground but could never kill. It just took all the punishment I could dish out and asked for more.
<sniff> and I sold it for a measly $1300.
I loved that truck.

Buddha's Ghost 04-10-2003, 07:26 AM Only vehicle I regret selling was my custom 1974 CB750 Honda motorcycle with Harley tank, cobra racing seat, Harley wheels, and hopped up cam. I was forced to sell it to pay off a debt I owed and I've been unhappy about it ever since.

Rockcrusher 04-10-2003, 08:18 AM 2 of'em!
Sold my '69 AMX 390 and replaced it with a 1972 4 door POS Chevy that the kids would fit in. Almost cried over that one!
Worst was my '63 Ford F250 with a 390. That rig hauled all the beer up the Fordyce trail for our booth at Sierra Trek II and III, survived countless trips into Spider and made one complete trip across the 'Con. Sold it because I had too many vehicles. I offered to buy it back for twice what I got for it but the guy told me to pound sand. I did cry when that one went away.
HighToy 04-10-2003, 08:31 AM 1979 Datsun 620 Bullet-side.
Had a 300zx engine in it and ran the quarter at just over 10seconds.
It looked like this.

80 Porsche 931 (924 Turbo to the unwashed) had a aftermarket wastegate and a dry-sump oiler for the turbo. Clean, FAST, nice, and a money pit.
Priest 04-10-2003, 09:04 AM 1977 Toyota Celica... beat the living piss out of that car and it always ran, never got washed, 30mpg.. beaters are cool.
Paul Gagnon 04-10-2003, 09:09 AM 1978 Austin Mini

I've always wanted a 140 Corsair, hell I'm the only person in my family who hasn't ownd a Corvair, everyone else has owend at least two or three. Dad was a Chevy mechanic so he could get them cheap and fix 'em up. I started driving during the Vega administration, that car only being 7 years old cost me a grand total of $50 with a cracked block, dad built me an engine for it and it was driven for another 7 years untill it got so rusty it almost broke in half when dad was driving to work one day.
Flipper 04-10-2003, 02:12 PM '57 VW bug. We were the second owner. The first owner won it in a sales promotion for Crest toothpaste (and kept it until 1985).

in 1967 he bought a used 66 mustang from Hertz rent a car, it was black with gold racing stripes and a 4 speed, sold it in 68 when he joined the navy (the black and gold made it a Shelby GT350H, of which almost none were 4 speeds)
he also had and sold a 1957 ford skyliner (retractable hardtop) and a 51 stude convertible...:(

big4294x4 04-10-2003, 06:15 PM Beutifull green 77 Ford f150 4x4
lead to string of bad decisions.
bought when I was 14, first project. Built new motor (429 with nice heads and all the bells and whistles- 410hp 540ftlbs). Re-did the interior with custom dash, all new gauges. And so on and so on. Wonderful truck, the most bad ass sound I have ever heard. Spent two years and every penny I earned building it. took over 6k in the end. Told myself I would never sell it. Took it out in the woods one time, lost oil pressure. Re- did the bottom end that night with all new bearings, and traded it for a Heep CJ7 with a 350.
Traded the CJ for an XJ- Bad move. Beat the hell out of the XJ. Drove Subaru wagon- XJ as trail rig. Sold both and bought the Toyota Pickup I have now. All in a matter of 1 year.
94toytruck 04-10-2003, 07:23 PM 81 camaro for sale now.i wont sell it locally cause i wont be able to keep from trying to get it back.ran 1/4 11.99. also my 87 dodge dakota.it was 2wheel drive but in highschool days it was the burn out machine.line locks on the speed bumps at school every morning.:D
