Anybody got old nerf bars laying around? Here is something you can do with them. I had some 1/4 steel bent for my rock gaurds. This was because I kept slamming them and the gate keeper at the con took out the side of my jeep

Cut off some old nerf bars that where given to me, bought some diamond plate for the tops so I dont slip off after to many :beer: and am good to go now. They look dam good if I say so myself, and should be very functional and stought. Just an idea for some of you looking for a project this winter.

but damn you need those to make it through gate keeper without bashing your body... I would think 36's and 7" of lift would be enough :flipoff2:

the nerfs look good but i hope they hold up for you because they didn't for me :D . but mine were as they come from smittybuilt not cut down so maybe you wont get as much flex out of them. might look into welding a plate from your rocker to the bar across the whole bottom then drill some holes for letting the water out. the metal in the nerfs is not that thick so this would be kind of be preventative action. again they look good i just dont want to see you prezel them the first time you use them as a pivot.

I was thinking the same thing. I cut them so there is only a 1" gap from the inside to the rockers themselves. But when I cut them noticed it was pretty thin maybe 1/8 inch. Thought about running a piece of 1/4 on the bottom and tak weld in place. But what the hell it needs a few scratches and dents.

yea normaly dents don't bother me much either but they realy bent, like the door on my bronco scraped them when opening :eek: . pivoting a fullsize on store bought (came on the vehicle) nerfs is not a good call:D . and i don't think even with the plate you are going to have much trouble making them look used.
