Was there a GM straight-six motor that had TBI from the factory? I'm looking for an I6 HEI distributor that is set up to work with a TBI computer.

D.U.I. makes such a beast, but I'm hoping something like that exists in junkyards.

Thanks!

To my knowlegdge there was never a GM I6 that was injected- could always build something using 4.3 V6 parts though?

The I6's were even-fire like the 4.3 v6. With a little cutting and welding, you could probably convert a TBI distributor to fit.

heya morgan- theres lots of efi info on the inliners.org bb. And possibly some on the clifford bb. I recall a recent post on efi from the 4.3v6 as well as one guy building his own efi as well as software that could download efi parameters for performance on the trail via his palm pilot and then reconfigure it for the highway and better economy.

Yes the thought of getting rid of a carb crosses my mind every time i start the pig up. It seems like a no-brainer and probaby the best mod you could do for any inline 6. You should consider doing a tech article for your procedure and quantifying your improvements in mpg-hp(seat of the pants unless you got a dyno in your second garage)

Kurt,

that e-mail is over a year old now ( Nov 2001) as I recall Clifford was moving ahead until he, the "founder" Clifford?? died?
After the head honch died I think the business fell into the typical family fight over who gets what and the web site/forum went down. Don't think it will ever happen now.
