Here's what I've got.....Long bed one ton, standard cab

Here's what I wan't.... Put short bed on it and bob the rear, that should put me right at 115" wb or so.

Anyone have pic's? Advice? I wan't to be able to run 37"MTR's. Anyone running chevy or ford 6" or 8" spring packs?

Yes I searched and did not find what I wanted, Thanks

I have Skyjacker 8" Chevy springs in my 81 Dodge. I just relocated the spring mounts so the axle is centered in the wheelwell. With a 4" body lift ( custom brackets, not pucks) I hope to clear my 39.5's.

I've got a '78 W-200 std cab LWB and moved the rear axle forward 9" and front forward 3" for a wheelbase of 125".

All I did was just measured forward of the original holes and drilled new holes for the spring hangars and crossmember. The main issue will have to contend with is that your rear spring hangar will probably end up in the middle of the "hump" in the frame. I would just make a shackle flip and run a longer shackle to make up the distance.

Another thing I just thought of is: Where are the supports on the bed located? If one falls where the hump will be you may need a short body lift to make the bed fit.

i'm planning something similiar, but the truck i've got already has the a 2nd frame sliced in (or on),

the front 1/2 is factory 72 W300, and i believe the rear is from a 75 W200........

this would keep the "hump" in the rear axle and body mount locations might even be able to be worked out.......

i'm going to cut the welds and just shorten the splice on the one pictured (also i'm not going to run bed)......

i originally had a '98 quad-cab long bed. last year i cut a section of frame rail from behind the cab and in front of the rear axle. i reattached the rear frame piece to the front with bolts and voila! i now have a 3' shorter wheelbase.

i'm not sure how your frame is built, so i couldn't advise you on the detailed procedure, but the concept is sound. i didn't have to relocate any suspension components. moving the whole rear end as an assembly is a lot cleaner. you just have to be careful that you don't weaken the frame.

i have a picture of my truck in the fullsize rockcrawlers post in this dodge forum.

Thats the stuff I'm looking for.
So that I didn't end up with bed mount issues or springs in the hump I was thinking of just cutting the frame in front of the spring hanger(forward end /rear spring) and then section out about 15" or so and weld it back together. Then bob the rear.
I just need to decide what springs to use. From what I've read it takes a shit load of lift to fit big tires on a dodge. I still want it to flex and so I'm thinking 63" chevys in the rear not sure about the front.
Thanks for the invite Fullsize. Just might do that one day.
