what all is different in a waggy 20, other than the axles, is the housing any better.

Yes, much thicker tubes. It's wider than the wide CJ however (58" vs. 55"). I liked my AMC 20 by the time I 'incrementally' got through working on it. (welded tubes, gussets, welded up 'butterfly' skid plate, Superior axles, 4.10s, ARB) I never broke an axle, but I did bend one bad enough to replace it. I now run a 35 spline D60 in its place.
regards, as always, jefe

What's the spline count/diameter of a model 20 shaft? The ring gear is like 8.5 or 8.8 or something right?

They also have thicker axle tubes.

Hey,
I think it's 1.26" in diameter but I know it's slightly smaller than the 30 spline Dana 44 shafts...

It just broke? Sounds like part of the story is missing. You dont have to hammer them in!! I have Mosers in my 20 and never had a problem.

1.19" shaft diameter, 29 spline, 8 7/8 ring gear

wags are semi float 6 bolt 1 piece axles

i know a guy with a grand wag running 38" hawgs and a spooled 20. he hasn't broken it yet

I agree on the ring gear & sline count, but I thought the dia. was around 1.26 - 1.29". I could be wrong though. I do know a 30 spline Dana is 1.31" for comparison. The 20 shafts look about the same, but I have'nt compared side by side.
