I just spent 2 hours at the local parts store while they tried to figure out what were the specifications of the stock FJ40 1978 tie rod ends.
I installed a power steering box and used a drop pitman arm from a jeep cherokee. The tapered hole in the arm is too large for the tie rod end. The parts guys gave up trying to measure the rod end. any help with the part numbers or suggestions is appreciated.
Also anyone know a company that will make up a custom speedometer cable. I tried 4 locla parts stores and no luck. Thanks

try warden's 530-622-9242 for the rod ends. tell him georg sent you.
for the speedo cable i'd look in the yellow pages under speedometer. most speedo shops can make custom cables for $40 and up.
good luck! georg;)

Check my PS writeup in my sig. I may have the PN that I used. I think I used a Moog ES140R tie rod end for my Jeep YJ pitman arm. I remember trying a few TREs before I found one to fit correctly.
