Depends on what kinda jeep you have. If you plan on running Scout axles, plan on getting a new transfer case too, unless you have a CJ b/c all other jeeps have driverside diffs.

the'll work as long as you have a pass side drop x-case.

Nice sig:flipoff2:  NEWBIE
Anyway there is some reason people are not running the scout axles and I cant remember why. It has something to do with the caster or knuckles. I would post this on the Jeep board just to be sure. Acctually I would do a search in the Jeep section then post if no good results. The best alternate is the Waggy front.

Caster? What Caster? Scout II's 79 and under had virtuly no caster. I think 80's had some but not a lot. To change the angle is not that hard though.

I gave the option to look or post on Jeep because I wasnt sure what the problem. I know there is one though. If I could remember Id state the problem.

yeah fixing the 0 degree caster problem of the scouts isn't that big of a deal. grind the wels off that hold the knuckle to the axle tube, get a bmfh and beat it back while using a small floating style angle finder to set it the desired amount of caster angle. i put my old scout 44 at 8 degrees and i loved it. it tracked great and didn't need a steering stab!

See see I told you so. I didnt say how hard the problem was to fix. I am kidding and I forgot to put a smilie on the end of the last reply. I think thats it with the caster. I know that is easy for some to fix but I hope anyone doing that has a good arc welder or big wirefeed. Need major penetration to reweld those knuckles back on. If the guy doesnt have the means to accomplish that then the waggy front axle would work for him right?.I am bias to the waggy stuff since I have found it cheaper and I feel the internal splined lockouts are stronger. If I wanted external hubs Id run d30 outer stuff. JMHO:D :D It is convenient to already have the 5 on5.5 though. I just run a ford hub and rotor but the spindle on the waggy is diff, so I had to get chevy spindles. Ok I see the advantage to just do the scout stuff.

Just curious, but how do the inner shaft lengths compare from the waggy to the scout? Would the waggy inners allow you to keep the stock heep spring spacing, or do they require outboarding like the scout ones do? Don't plan on doing anything like this, just wondering.
