: What fittings to use coming out of a York?

Hi all, I can't seem to find any fittings that actually "fit" the threaded parts (input and output) of my York. Can anyone tell me the corect size and thread so I can hook it up? NPT and compression fittings both have the wrong thread for mine. If it matters at all it is out of a 78 ford.

Thanks all,
JYS

There are a variety of different fittings found on Yorks and they are interchangeable. I like the "O-ring" type, since the metal ends on the hoses can use standard 1/2 (outlet) and 5/8 (inlet) compression fittings. These are found on late 70s to mid 80s Volvos. You can also buy standard NPT flanges from onboardair.com.
Here is a link to the different flange styles:

Another EASY option is this. Pull the fittings off it. Un-bolt the top of the york. grind the top flat (not neccesary, but looks better) around where the fittings were. Run an NPT tap (drilling may be required first, depending on the fittings you had) through the holes. Then put some brass NPT fittings on with some teflon tape.

There you just did it the POR way - make your own for next to free :flipoff2:
Doesn't that feel better?

A s someone mention www.onboardair.com has them

there next to nothing in price as well, I think lasttime I priced them they were 35 for the pair.. they replace the whole fitting on top..

I kept the stock high pressure hose and cut the end off and pressed a barb fitting into the hose (really tight fit). Then I used a hose clamp to keep it in. If that is the end you are referring to.

Like the others said check out www.onboardair.com. There are three different style fittings I think for the York. Or you could try a place that carries semi-truck parts thats where I got the barbed fittings that adapted to the York fittings on mine.:D

I just ran a 1/2" NPT die over the existing fittings ;) worked well enough
