Guys (and gals)....
How common are Ram 2500's with either the V10, or the Cummins engine?

I think i'm going to get back into the snow plow business, and want a 4x4, and of course i thought of Dodge first. :)

I would prefer a 3500 dually, but they cost a lot more and due to the extra width, i could see running into some trouble when i plow.

Oh, and i mostly want to have the business so that it will pay for the truck entirely, and then i get a basically free tow rig. :D :D

Lemme know what ya think, obviously looking at used, but not older than say... a '98 or so?

Drive em, see what you like, use it. Ram 2500's are pretty common with the cummins, v10, and 5.9l V8. come with a 4 speed auto, a 5 speed manual (nv4500) or the 6 speed manual in the HO cummins (nv5600).

Keep your eyes open and there is normally a cummins or 2, ex cab short bed (my favorite) for under 18k (that would be 98 or newer).

Well, i definitely need an auto. (motorcycle accident, paralysed right arm)
And i want the diesel for towing more than pushing snow. I know that even the 360 will have enough power to push lots of snow, but towing a decent size load, 7000+ pounds, she'll eat up the gas pretty good as well...

I also want the ext. cab to carry passengers as well on those trips out wheelin far away. :D

I know what i want, i just didn't know how common they were, and if i would be able to find one ya know?

very easy to find. If you want a cummins, you can get in one cheaper if you get an ex cab long bed, because you can get a 96-97
BTW, i just did a search for diesel 4x4 dodges between the years of 98-02 in the US and came up with thousands of adds.

Oh and yes those engine options are out there, because those are the only 3 engines avaliable. From seeing them on the road, i would say 40% are cummins, 30% are v10, and 30% are v8. For sale you tend to find alot more v10 and v8 trucks for sale (for obvious reasons, not as many people sell their cummins rams).

Well, i just started looking at autotrader.ca in Ontario, and they have a bunch listed.
And they are pretty reasonable as well!! Kinda surprised, i was thinking that they would be a lot higher in price with the diesel. I'm happy. :D

If you do look in that site, remember, all the prices are in Canadian dollars. ;)
