OK, I was pulling everything apart last night (Finally) and noticed that on the FJ-40 the ring gear is tap/threaded for the bolts that hold the ring gear to the carrier. However the ones I got from Mike are not tapped/threaded. How the hell does the ring gear get held on the carrier??

Would it be OK to use a regular grade 8 nut/lockwasher/bolt combo on there?? HELP HELP!!

Aren't all ring gears tapped for bolts?

HA!! I answered my own damn question.

Part # 41222 A in the TPI catalog is the bolt that goes thru the ring gear and part # 90179 is the nut. So for future reference if anybody cares......Some Rings are NOT tapped and require this bolt (Or a home built grade 8 replacement) with a lock washer/nut combo.
