Brand new IH ring and pinion bought from International dealer auction. Has some light surface rust. Pinion has 10 large
splines and #'s : 8836 MT , also has 2.385 engraved on end of pinion. Ring gear measures 8.25" and takes RH bolts. Ring
gear #'s :L2 7836 37-9 Micro Test gear company.

Here's the specs from E-bay, I should have looked closer at the pic, before I bid, but the price was right and someone will need it. If you look closely the splines on the end of the pinion then the threads.

10-spline? I have 10-spline 4.88 Dana 44 gears in the front of my black '77.

8.25" wouldn't be a '44 - is that D30 spec?

Ah but, the splines are at the end of the shaft, then the threaded section. So I have no idea here.

I sent the specs to my buddy who works for a R & P place. I'll see if he can come up with something.

My Buddy says this:

THE RING GEAR # DOESN'T COME UP, BUT EVERYTHING ELSE WOULD LEAD ME TO THINK THAT IT IS AN EARLY (PRE 1969) DANA 44. 4.11 RATIO

Very interesting, I might have to post this at the BB, since you guys failed me :D I sure someone will want it for a resto project. At least know I can go to 4.56's in the front 44.

Oh so does this mean you want it? Might be a little too much gearing for your 27's on the freeway.
