Whenever my 4.3 is on its side for or upside down, by the time it is righted, it has hydrolocked. it hasn't sat that way for maybe more than 5 minutes. this is a 99 4.3l vortec. Any help on things to check for would be appreciated. It is tough in comp to remove all 6 plugs, these custom headers and chassis dont lend themselves to easy plug removal....

HELP!!!

Just figure out where the oil is coming from... My 91' XJ sat totally inverted for about 35min and after we righted it (I pulled the plugs to be sure) there was no oil in the cylinders it started up first time with a little puff of blue smoke and then normal exhaust...

I use an air tube that runs from a steel air box w/ a K&N to the throttle body - in the middle of the tube there is a 1/2" line that goes to the CCV on the valve cover, on the intake there is also a smaller (1/8" ID) vacuum line that goes to the other CCV on the valve cover.

The large one is an uphill path when the rig is upside down but I was looking into making the lines longer and using a flapper valve (check valve) in the line so oil would seat it when inverted - or just running then to a little air filter and just ignoring the fact that the engine now burns the vaporized oils from the crankcase... either way just eliminate the path for the oil to get into the intake and then into the cylinders :flipoff2:

Good luck

Matt
