it depends on how you want them cooked. Do you want them soft medium hard or green?

My husband just asked me, "How do you boil eggs!" You guys are too much! Put the eggs into a pan of cold water. Bring it to a boil and shut it off. Let it set until the water is cool enough to take the eggs out without burning your fingers. This way the yolk doesn't turn green-yuck! The yolk will stay nice and yellow and be completly cooked and your kids will love them! This is also the first and maybe only time my husband will probably ever let me get on "His" site! So I'm getting my moneys worth...hello guys!

Full boil for 10 minutes or so, drain and immediately run cold water over em till they cool down. That will make em easier to peel. :D:D Mom taught me that before she passed on. :(

Put eggs into cold water and set to boil.
As soon as they boil take them off the heat and cover.
13 minutes later you will have perfect hard boiled eggs.

Salt helps a little bit to make peeling them easier but the real key for easy to peel eggs is their age.The older the egg the easier it is to peel.

Boil for 3.5 minutes for medium, soft centers. Good for dipping toast in. (Whizzy's 3 yr old taught me this.)

add a piece of lemon to the water so that the shell won't stick to the white

if your not the timer sort there is a device you can buy that will help you boil the perfect eggs whether soft or hard is your desire! :D I said desire!

Any of the cullinary stores in the mall will have the egg boiler. Its egg shaped (flat on the bottom) and has a clear top. You put it in with the eggs and boil till the darker shade forms to the line you want (soft, medium, hard). Then just drain and run cold water over them until cold. Perfect every time and only costs about 2-3 bucks.:)

i'm bad with timers and i'm always forgeting when i put them in so i just boil them until they crack.

cracked shell, from boiling=hard boiled

three minutes for soft boiled. poppa used to make me soft boiled eggs and chop them up with toast and bacon. or mix them with grits. he was the ultamite breakfast man.
