My son has an '86 KX 80 and it has no power on the bottom end and when the powerband kicks in it won't stay in (almost like it is runnning out of gas). On bottom if you really twist the throttle it sounds like it is flooding out and if you don't let off it will die. I adjusted the needle up and down tried every groove. It runs the best right in the middle but it still doesn't run anywhere close to right. Someone please help me fix his bike. I don't know crap about bikes, I have experience turning wrenches just not on a bike so someone please give me some ideas.
TIA

thats a tuff one without being there. it will never have any bottom end by design, and if it ran ok before it could be lots of things, like the piston and rings wore out, dirty air filter, bad set of reeds if it has any, water in the gas will make it act like its running out of fuel on top, bad ignition also.

Thanks smurf,
I ended up tearing into it a little more tonight, and it is mising aobut 1/16" around one of the reeds. So tuesday the new reeds will be in and we will see if that gets her going. I'm prety sure that is/was most of our problem.
Thanks
