Besides the ranger citing me a ticket and sending me home, where can I get noise tested around sacramento for free,
I just replaced my silencer with a Q and need to know it will pass

maybe you can get a hold of the ranger that gave you the ticket and see if he will test your bike again without siteing you. it's the least he can do.
make him earn that ticket money you paid.
i've brought bikes directley to the ranger station before riding and explained that i didn't know if it would pass or not and didn't want a ticket so could they check it for me. and they did for free. once the guy told me no way so i didn't ride and i didn't get a ticket. he just told me to leave it loaded in the truck.

Hawaii - the ranger said leave it in the truck cuz he didnt want you slowing down the other riders out there!!!!(just kidding dude)
spitz - you can lookup ohv areas on the california website.(I enter hollisterhills.com and use the link) and call the ohv areas near you and ask about testing. usually the rangers are willing to test you than to bother with writing a ticket. I know prarie city, hollister hills, and carnigie all will test you before you ride(if you ask) or they will stop you during your ride to test/ticket. I was advised by smurfsdad (PBB member) that all OHV areas in the state of California(some in Oregeon and Nevada) will test/ticket you for excessive DB.
Good Luck,
JJ
PS - try PMing smurfsdad!! he knows this shit in and out!!!!

All the parks have the equipment and should test you when you ask. The only thing questionable about the Q is on the Yamaha 4 strokes. The F's are hard to get quiet. If it wont pass with the Q call FMF and tell them. There is so much question about bikes passing that i am going to try and get some testing stations if you want to call it that set up. I will let everyone know when i get something done.

Thanx for all the good info! and all the replies. I'll try prairie city, at least if I can't ride I won't be overly upset about missing out all the great riding out there.
Geez, I have really been out of it lately. I broke my leg in Jan out at Carnagie and have not ridden since (just stating to walk without a limp). I know that my 426 does not pass, but they are handing out tickets now instead of just sending you home? WOW I guess I will need to replace the t4 that I have on it.

I talked to the head ranger at Prairie City and they will test you if you ask them to. He said to call ahead to make sure they had the people to do it. Even better news is they arent going to start enforcing 96db until July. If your loud now like 101-105 and up you will get a ticket. They are also going to start enforcing the red sticker times starting in July. Hollister is a different so you might get ticketed there as sound is a bigger issue there.
