Ok, I've been poking around on the web and looking at sites that sell the tranny and kits, etc. Some have "manual" lockup torque converters, and I would think that would be a grat thing to have. If one were to swap in a TH700 and a low stall converter with a manual lockup, I'm assuming that the combo would allow for almost as much engine braking on steep downhills as a stick shift. 1st gear, and lock the converter (just for the downhil decent).. Is this a correct assumption ?

Thanks again,
Fred

Obviously I'm new to this "auto" stuff and am still trying to digest a ton of information. Wouldn't a low stall converter, that has the stall speed somewhat about idle speed be just fine on the street and the rocks ?? What am I missing, obviously something
