Put your tranny in drive, run up to 50 mph and hold it steady. While holding steady on the gas at 50 mph barely push on the brake pedal, just enough to turn the lights on but not enought to engauge the brakes,,,don't let off gas while doing this.
When you push on the brake pedal your RPM's will go up about 150-200 rpm's if the converter is locked up. If the rpm's don't move the converter is not in lock-up. I'm not possitive but i don't think the converter will lock-up in "D" so let me know.

The torque converter clutch should lock up in either Drive or Overdrive, but not first and second gear.
