Are Rochester carbs still manufactured? or did they get bought out? Local eng. builder recommended them for a buddies '87
FJ60 that is having problems passing emmisions. I know they were popular for awhile on early cruisers. Anyone have the scoop
on em?

Aisin Carbs are great - just tell your buddy to get it rebuild by the grand master of the Aisin carb, Jim Chenowyth in Ohio (Land Cruisers Unlimited?) - maybe someone else here has a web link. I costs about $250. Cheeper than a new carb and doing all the mods IMHO

You can also rebuild it yourself. If you just need to pass smog, it would be a shame if you accidentally dropped a gallon of methanol into the few gallons left in your tank and then passed with flying colors. Be sure to fill up with gas after such an accident to dilute the methanol.
