My buddy has a CJ-5 and is looking at the Old Man Emu kit to put Wrangler springs on his -5. I am sure we can save him some cash by doing it ourselves. Besides new spring hangers and plates being welded on...what other issues are going to pop up on us in this venture??

frame mounts , shackle mounts, u bolt spring plates, perches(i suppose you could run the stock ones, but it would look hack).

Yeah, that is all I was figuring on....but it sounds too easy. Does anyone know of a writeup on this type of conversion???? <IMG SRC="smilies/usa.gif" border="0">

depending on the cj-5 year, the front leaves may be a different length then the wrangler leaves. early cj's had short fronts (around 37") and longer rears (45"). wranglers are 45 all around

MORE sells the shackle hangers for the conversion. Very simple bolt on! I believe they are $80 a pair and ya need 2 pair.

$160 plus springs and redrilling the plates!
