welll theres nothing really to adding anything or soing anything special! i can tell you right now though if yer gonna do a suspension lift i would recomend doing a SOA (spring over axle)
lift and body well theres nothing really to a body lift but i see u want to do a body lift so my answer is NO there is nothing really special to do!

So you are recommending that this guy do a springover on his friend's 2WD F-150.... riiiiiiight.

I would ask the vendor/manufacturer of the kit if there is anything not included. According to the vendor of this Performance Accessories body lift (http://performancelifts.com/cgi-bin/cart/PER862.html) the bumper brackets and steering extension are included, though it does not say anything about the shifter. Was the shifter on your 4Runner on the floor? Does her F-150 have a column shifter? I doubt that you need to address the shifter if it is on the column.

if it is auto shift on the column there will be a rod that comes down that will need to be lengthened the amount of the body lift. at least, thats how it is on a chevy column, I assume its the same type of thing on a ford

can't do a spring-over since they already are.

When we did a Body lift on my EB we forgot to check the fan shroud, and when we went to start the bronco, the fan ate the shroud. So check that at least. :D

If you dont know the exact answer to questions either through expierence or brain size, please shut the fuck up. Spreading misinformation helps nobody and only proves your membership in The Idiot Club. That was a PBB flashback that needs to come back!

tools for a body lift.

high-lift or two
a couple wood blocks so you don't mark up that pretty paint
can of PB Blaster (if you're anywhere near where things rust)
air tools make it quicker, but it can be done with hand tools as well

The link below is for Toyotas, but it is VERY thorough. Roger Brown is known for his awesome docuemtnation, and this is no exception.

not EXACTLY sure on th 150, but my ranger didn't require the rod lengthened... it is cable shift assy kinda like a hood latch or e barke cable.
on MY ford, all we had to do was remove the 12 factory body bolts, disconnect the steering shaft, and slip the pucks and steering extension in... relocate the radiator and ground straps, slap the bumper brackets on and we were done.
its easier than it sounds...
on a side note.... SOA on a 97 f 150 is not really feasable without MUCHO KUSTOM work... LOL read my sig... i know from experience!:flipoff2:

you get 1/2 credit... the 2WD SLA fords use coil springs, so SUA/SOA distinction isn't made seeing as a COIL UNDER is sorta hard to do... the 4WDs use no spring at all, but rather, torsion bars... in either case, its not really SOA... thats reserved more for leaf sprung scenarios...

They still use leaf springs in the rear (even 2WD), and they are on top of the axle from the factory. :rasta:

I have done 2 body lifts on fords my 95 f150 and my buddy's 94 bronco. The kit should have all the parts you need to lower the fan shrod (spelling) as well as move the front bumper up. I had to fab up the rear bumper. As far as the column shift they where both cables and did not have to do anything to them.

shifter on the colum (yeah I know) rod to extend it if it's not cable operated. Fan shroud, E-Brakes cables maybe (had to readjust on a chevy before) Bumpers, Steering, And just be carefull when lifting the body and look for any odds and ends that might hang up on you.
