Put the ZJ M/C and Booster on the CJ this past weekend. Very simple conversion once I found a shop to build the brake lines coming out of the M/C. They are metric fittings and found a shop to braze my old lines to the ones coming out of the new ones. Will try to post some pics.

Have some issues with the Booster hitting the hood, but a hammer and a wood block should elieveiate that 1/4" problem.

The next one we do on a buddies, we will eliminate the problem by moving the master down 1/4" into the center hole. You have to drill out the 4 holes for the studs. The throw on the M/C is the same as stock CJ.

Talk about having brakes now....lock all four 35's up going 30 MPH on the pavement....this rocks.

Cost:

M/C and Booster from Salvage yard $75

Custom Brake Lines $44

Total Cost $119

Total time: 1 1/2 hours

Tools needed: 3/8" drill bit with drill

Good to know. I will be using an XJ set up for a flattie project this winter.

I got a couple of questions for ya.

1) Couldn't ya just cut the lines and put metric fittings and re-flare the ends.

2) Was the rod the same as the stock CJ?

First question....no, the ends at the MC use metric sized tubing....and small tubing at that compared to my existing tubing.

Second question....The rods were the same length

If you use a XJ master & booster make sure you get a 95 or newer one, the older single diaphrams one suck <IMG SRC="smilies/rainbow.gif" border="0">

Are you running 4 wheel disk or still the drums in the rear?
